Pakistani singing sensation Ali Zafar, who shot to fame in India with his acting debut in Tere Bin Laden and later featured in Yash Raj Films’ Mere Brother Ki Dulhan, has expressed displeasure at Pakistani starlet Veena Malik’s behaviour.
Fed up with Veena’s publicity antics – which many believe are giving a bad name to her home country Pakistan – Ali Zafar has lashed out at her saying, she should not be taken as the representative of Pakistan or its culture. “You have to understand that she’s an individual and you can’t judge the entire community on the basis of one person’s behaviour,” said Ali in a recent interview.
Earlier, Pakistani actress Meera, who shot to fame in India with Mahesh Bhatt’s Nazar, where she co-starred with actor Ashmit Patel who is currently romancing Veena, had also blamed the starlet for disrespecting family values.
After Veena participated in a nude photoshoot for the Indian edition of FHM magazine with an ISI tattoo painted on her arm, Meera had stated, “Veena Malik is acting very cheap. The way she presented herself in front of Indian audiences is not right. She is denigrating the image of Pakistani women. This is not how women in Pakistan are.”
“She's doing all this because she is hungry for fame. She has no self-respect and is ready to do anything to become famous,” Meera added.
