Trouble for Shootout at Wadala

The innovative invite for the launch of 'Shootout At Wadala' today, sent to the media in the form of an official police summons, had everyone praising the uniqueness of thought. However, Mumbai's cops aren't too pleased.

Two cops from the local police station are believed to have landed up at director Sanjay Gupta's residence, to seek answers.

DCP Nisar Tamboli, the official spokesperson of the Mumbai Police, said, "We are looking into the matter. Nobody is supposed to use the national emblem and commissioner's name."

John speaks Marathi in Shootout at Wadala

John Abraham, who has been cast as Manya Surve in the keenly awaited 'Shootout At Wadala', is set to brush up his Marathi to play the author-backed role.

Manohar Arjun Surve (better known as Manya) was an infamous underworld gangster of Marathi origin. His death in 1982 during an encounter with the Mumbai police is the city's first recorded encounter killing.

Says John, "Being a Mumbaikar, I speak and comprehend Marathi well but to get into the skin of the character, I need to learn the more conversational and colloquial part of the language."

Interestingly, Kangana Ranaut has been paired opposite John for the first time. "She is a wonderful actor and I am looking forward to working with her. There is something unique about our pairing," John adds.

A Balaji Motion Pictures - White Feather co-production, 'Shootout At Wadala', among the biggest multi-starrers of the year, goes on floor today. It has been slated for a December 7 release

Ranveer Singh entertains Purulia crowds!

The unit of Vikramaditya Motwane's epic romance, ‘Lootera’, has been shooting in a town called Purulia, which is a 5 hour drive from Kolkata. (One may recall that Purulia is the city which became notorious after an infamous incident in which unauthorized arms were dropped there from an Antonov An-26 aircraft on 17 December, 1995.) The location of the shoot was a 4 hour drive from the Akash hotel in Purulia. Ranveer would travel to & fro for 8 hours every day, and shoot another 8-10 hours. Despite the profound exhaustion that had set in given his vigorous schedule, he would still make it a point to entertain the huge crowd that would gather outside his hotel to see him everyday. He would dance to tunes from ‘Band Baaja Baaraat’ for the cheering crowd, which had gathered from far. Within no time he had become a darling of the Purulia District! Says Ranveer, "It's a great feeling to be able to reach out to so many people!"

Sonu Sood as Dawood

The ensemble cast of Sanjay Gupta's 'Shootout At Wadala' is getting bigger by the day.

The biggest star-studded sequel of 2012 already features Anil Kapoor, John Abraham & Kangana Ranaut.

Recently it was revealed that Manoj Bajpai had been signed up to play the role of Sabir.

The latest addition to the set-up is of Sonu Sood, who has been chosen to play a character, reportedly modeled on a young Dawood Ibrahim.

Confirmed Sonu, "I am excited to be a part of this prestigious project. Gupta is a great technician and I've been extremely keen to work with him. No doubt that Balaji is a prolific producer."

The rest of the cast is expected to be announced soon.

'Shootout At Wadala', a Balaji - White Feather Films co-production, is slated for a December 7 release. It goes into production this week.

This is the story of every average middle class girl in India. Every girl cherishes a dream since her childhood; the dream about an ideal husband and a picture perfect marriage. And it's every parent's dream to find an ideal husband for their daughter; one who has been brought up to adhere to all the values and traditions and will give their daughter every happiness in the world. Yet, as they say, matches are made in heaven and more often than not, the dream of an ideal husband truly remains incomplete. In this imperfection, each girl tries to find love and makes her marriage work.

Set in present day UP, the show will showcase the sights & hubbub of the lanes and by-lanes of Agra and Vrindavan. The mesmerizing backdrop of Taj Mahal and sacred ghats of Vrindavan essentially collaborate to evoke the essence of Uttar Pradesh.

Shubh Vivaah explores the lives of Mr Saxena and his five daughters. The story traces the love these five sisters share, the bonds they cement, the faith they place on each other and the dedication with which they try to face the harsh realities of their lives. Mr Saxena is a doting father whose only dream in life is to get his daughters married into respectable families and to see that they lead happy married lives. Since his wife’s death, Mr Saxena has been both a father and a mother to his daughters.

Like every average middle class girl in India, these five sisters also have been dreaming of a perfect marriage.  They don’t expect much from the man of their dreams. All they are looking for is unconditional love from their future husbands. Finally the time arrives when each of them gets married and with a heavy heart Mr Saxena bids them farewell to them.  How does marriage change the lives of five sisters? Will their picture of a ‘Perfect Husband' break after marriage or will they find the man of their dreams?

The show which is slated to go on air from 27th February 2012 boasts of an ensemble cast of the who's who of the telly industry. After wooing millions of hearts through his striking portrayal of a Punjabi boy in blockbuster ‘Tanu Weds Manu’, Eijaz Khan is all set to don the attire of a rustic boy from UP in Shubh Vivaah. Neha Janpandit who was last seen in Sony Entertainment Television’s Chhajje Chhajje Ka Pyaar, is paired with Eijaz. This show also marks veteran actor Rakesh Bedi’s comeback on the small screen.

Manish Raisinghania aka Siddhant from Sasural Simar Ka
“For me, the most important thing is to spread a smile on a person’s face. Valentine’s is just another day where we get the chance to make people feel a little more special with gifts and surprises. This Valentine’s Day I will be performing for an event in Rajasthan and I plan to make this day special for all my fans in Rajasthan.”

Avika Gaur aka Roli from Sasural Simar Ka
“Valentines Day to me is the red day. Red is the color of love and I love the thought of making this day special whether it is by giving a bunch of red roses or heart shaped chocolates, shiny giftswrapped with a red ribbon or by just by spending some quality time with my loved ones. This Valentine’s Day I will spend time with my friends and family as I love them the most.”

Shoaib Ibrahim aka Prem from Sasural Simar Ka
Love is Love. It has no definition. Its beautiful, its larger than life and no one has any control on it. Valentine’s Day is a day where you get the chance to officially share the love. So this Valentine’s Day, I will make sure to spend some quality time with friends and family.”

Deepika Samsung aka Simar from Sasural Simar Ka
Valentine’s Day is about spending the day with that special someone. It doesn’t have to be your lover; it can be your gang of girls, or your best friend or even your sibling. This Valentine’s Day is going to be like a Mother’s Day out for me, I want to take my mother for dinner and maybe splurge on some mouth-watering desert.

Kirti Nagpure aka Siddhi from Parichay
“Love for me is knowing everything about someone, and yet not wanting to change anything about them. Its about wanting to be with them more than any other person, love is trusting them enough to tell them everything about yourself, including the things you might be ashamed of, it’s about feeling comfortable and safe with someone, but still getting weak knees when they walk into a room and smile at you. This Valentine’s Day I am going to spend time with the person I love the most.”

Samir Soni aka Kunal from Parichay
“For me, every day is Valentine’s Day, every moment I spend, I would like to spend as I would on Valentine’s Day. Love is love and I don’t think you need a special to day to tell someone you love him or her but the hectic schedule of life hardly leaves any time for that. Probably this is why Valentine’s Day came into existence. This Valentine’s Day I am going to spend some time with Neelam, my life and my wife and make it a memorable day for both of us.”

Nandish aka Veer from Uttaran
“Valentine’s Day to me is a special day for all lovers in the world whether they are young lovers, married couples or, live-in partners. Love keeps us moving. This Valentine’s Day I am going to spend the evening with my wife and make her feel special in my own way.”

Vaishnavi aka Janvi from Na Aana Is Des Laado
“I don’t believe in love at first sight, for me first impression being the last impression just doesn’t hold true. Love has to grow on me. But I realize that nothing is deeper than love in this world. This Valentine’s Day I hope love finally leaves an impression on me."

Kapil aka Surya from Na Aana Is Des Laado
“Valentine’s Day is just like any other day for me as I believe that you don’t need a special day to express love. This Valentine’s Day I will spend some time with my loved ones.”

Iss Valentine's Day par kya hoga Pyar Ka Izhar

Valentine's Day is synonymous with romance and showering love on that special one. This Valentine’s Day is extremely special for Dr. Ashutosh & Dr. Nidhi of Kuch Toh Log Kahenge as it would their first together. Since the show highlights the complications in a relationship after two people with a huge age difference fall in love, will this V-day bring any change in their relation?
Every girl likes her dream boy to make her feel special but this 42 years old, Dr. Ashutosh have no idea how to express love. He is not bothered about the day as he thinks he is too old for all this and he has never celebrated Valentine Day in his life.  On the other hand, Nidhi is eagerly awaiting for a surprise from him as its their first Valentine together.
How this Valentine's Day going to be for Dr Ashutosh and Nidhi? Will they celebrate it with much enthusiasm and verve? Will Ashutosh surprise Nidhi by gifts, cards, flowers, chocolates, etc or it would be like any normal day?

Kareena's Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu Look Decoded

Stars get romantic this Valentines

Vishal Singh aka Jeet Ahluwalia of Parvarrish- I don’t believe in the concept of Valentine’s Day. We cannot confine one day for romance. According to me one should romance everyday and in a relationship everyday should be like a Valentine’s Day.

Tarana Raja Kapoor aka Neha Shergil of Bade Acche Laggte Hain- I’am going to have a fabulous meal with my girl friends! So far I've not been in a relationship. But whenever I’ll be in one, I expect my partner to show extra love for me on that day, flowers, meal the whole shebang.

Jai Kalra aka Vikram Shergil of Bade Acche Laggte Hain - For people in love, everyday is a Valentine’s Day. But in our busy lives we often miss out on moments to tell our loved ones how much they mean to us. So I guess Valentine’s Day is a good day to not just take a moment but a full day to express your love to that special someone in our life. This year I plan to take my wife Bhavna for a one night getaway and pamper her totally. So it will include Spa treatment, adventure sports and a long drive.

Mohit Malhotra aka Kartik Sharma of Bade Acche Laggte Hain - Valentine’s Day to me is a day of celebrating love. It’s a day to express your love, affection for the special one in your life. So if I manage to find someone special before Valentines,  I will make sure it’s the most special day for her. So on the Valentine’s Day I will surprise her with some beautiful flowers and chocolates in the morning. And then later take out on a romantic drive and make her listen to her favorite music and will present her with a custom made calendar showcasing our pictures together. And then later in the night I will take her out to a romantic dinner somewhere by the beach. And I guess by then she would want to stay with me until breakfast next morning!!

Sumona Chakrabarty aka Natasha of Bade Acche Laggte Hain - Valentine Day for me is just another day like a birthday or an anniversary. My love for my family and friends is something I celebrate throughout the year, not just on one day in a year. This year too it will be a family dinner and later fun n frolic with friends.

Chahhat Khanna aka Ayesha Sharma of Bade Acche Laggte Hain - It’s a warm feeling. I feel butterflies in my stomach when I think about it, but I think it should come every week why a year only because if you get to appreciate the one you love on that day so why not every day?

Pakistani actor Ali Zafar attacks starlet Veena Malik!

Pakistani singing sensation Ali Zafar, who shot to fame in India with his acting debut in Tere Bin Laden and later featured in Yash Raj Films’ Mere Brother Ki Dulhan, has expressed displeasure at Pakistani starlet Veena Malik’s behaviour.

Fed up with Veena’s publicity antics – which many believe are giving a bad name to her home country Pakistan – Ali Zafar has lashed out at her saying, she should not be taken as the representative of Pakistan or its culture. “You have to understand that she’s an individual and you can’t judge the entire community on the basis of one person’s behaviour,” said Ali in a recent interview.

Earlier, Pakistani actress Meera, who shot to fame in India with Mahesh Bhatt’s Nazar, where she co-starred with actor Ashmit Patel who is currently romancing Veena, had also blamed the starlet for disrespecting family values.

After Veena participated in a nude photoshoot for the Indian edition of FHM magazine with an ISI tattoo painted on her arm, Meera had stated, “Veena Malik is acting very cheap. The way she presented herself in front of Indian audiences is not right. She is denigrating the image of Pakistani women. This is not how women in Pakistan are.”

“She's doing all this because she is hungry for fame. She has no self-respect and is ready to do anything to become famous,” Meera added.

Movie Predictions-Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu

Just two weeks back Karan Johar gave us an action revenge drama Agneepath which proved to be a box office success.

Now he presents us with a typical ‘rom-com’ for which he is famously known for.

Will he be second time lucky ?.

Our in-house expert and noted astro-numerologist Bhavikk Sangghvi predicts the fate of this Valentine week release.

“The title ‘EK MAIN AUR EKK TU’ (thanks to the double ‘K’)is adding up to Number 46 – an octave of Number 1 which has a distinct potency of its own. It is a number of good and fortunate friendships in love and in combinations connected with the opposite sex. It is also good for partnerships of all kinds. It is a fortunate indication if it appears in connection with future events” explains Bhavikk.

“No prizes for guessing that the film will hit the bull’s eye with its target audience and would prove to be a ‘perfect date movie’ for the lovers of the world” predicts Bhavikk.

He continues “Imran Khan (13th January 1983) whose luck is in top form will pocket one more ‘hit’ and once again be well appreciated for portraying his role well”.

“The year 2012 which adds up to Number 5 (Mercury) is going to prove lucky for most Number 5 and 8 people and Imran is not only a Capricorn (ruler Saturn – Number 8) but his ‘destiny’ number also adds up this number”.

“Equally going through a great phase, Kareena is a Virgo (ruler Mercury – Number 5) running in her 32nd year and her fan following will increase manifold amongst the youth post the release of this film”.

“Last but not the least, producer Karan Johar (25th May 1972) is a Gemini ruled by Number 5 (Mercury) and being in his 40th year, the success of ‘Agneepath’ and now ‘Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu’ is just the beginning of the good times in store for him ahead”.

“So it’s celebrations galore and party time for the cast, crew and the entire team at Dharma Productions” signs off Bhavikk on a joyous note

Candid Kareena and Imran

he gorgeous Kareena Kapoor, the mischievous Imraan Khan and the devil’s advocate Karan Johar makes for an amazing talk show. That much was expected. What wasn’t expected was the extent of bold fun that happened. The three stars had got together for A date with Ek Main aur Ekk Tu’ – a show to be simulcast exclusively on ETC, Zee TV, Zing, Zee Café, Zee Studio, Zee Trendz and Zee Khana Khazana on 4th February, 7PM.

The mood for the show was set early on when KJo asked Imraan if he’d thought of undergoing therapy for OCD. “Never, I quite enjoy being obsessively organized,” replied Imraan without batting an eyelid.

As the chat proceeded it appeared Karan had touched a raw nerve when he told Imraan, “Kareena postponed dates for Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu as she preferred doing Bodyguard first. She chose Salman over you!”

Never the one to be flustered, Imraan shot back, “If you’ve to lose, that’s someone to lose to!”

Having failed to get the better of Imraan, KJo trained his guns on Kareena. “How do you feel when you see Saif in an intimate scene with another hot actress? Say in Race 2, Saif has a bare-body scene with a Deepika in bikini, what would be your first thought?”

“I’d be like ‘wow! How hot Saif looks’,” said Kareena, adding, with a twinkle in her eye, “I know how he looks bare bodied!” Probed further, Kareena revealed, “I am quite secure in my relationship with Saif and though I don’t want to say too much too soon, I am quite content!”

And for all those people who were missing Karan Johar's famous rapid fire round, this session with the season’s hottest jodi, Imraan and Kareena will definitely leave u begging for more. Their tongue in cheek replies will definitely set new standards in the industry. Rechristened the Quick Fire round, KJo asked Imraan what was the one thing he wouldn’t want to change in Kareena. Not missing a beat, Imraan replied, “Her bum! It’s a perfect 10 on 10!” While a visibly embarrassed Kareena covered her face, Karan was left speechless!

On being asked about his views on money for sex, a straight faced Imraan shot back, “Depends on how much you are offering!”

If that wasn’t enough, Karan asked Imraan what he expected to find if he walked into Ranbir Kapoor’s bedroom. A thoughtful Imraan pondered, “It’s hard to say … a big baby…”

Moving on to Kareena, Karan asked her, “Does size matter?” Even before Bebo could contemplate answering, Imraan butted in, “Please … on behalf of all men, please answer this question for us!” With a smile on her face, Kareena said, “I think to me it does.”

Karan Goddwani to quit Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon ?

Karan Goddwani recently entered Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon? on STAR Plus but his character NK has become a hit with the audience. However we now hear that the actor is already set to leave the show. Karan’s fans need not be disappointed as the reason he is leaving is because he has been offered a much more meatier and prominent role in another new show on Colors
