He is the only Pakistani artiste to have rendered as many as three tracks in a Bollywood album. Zahid was last heard in the Bhatts' 'Awarapan' [Tera Mera Rishta and To Phir Aao] and in 'Runway' [Khuda Ke Liye].

Jay Bhanushali’s swanky new Audi!

Money says it all' and it holds true when we saw Jay Bhanushali with his swanky new Audi A6. This recent purchase of the DID anchor has set the industry tongues wagging! Said Jay, “Ever since I can remember, I have dreamt of owning an Audi as I admire its beauty. I fell in love with the car on my first test drive itself. Though I had to cough up a lot of money for this piece of beauty…I’m thrilled to bits with my new purchase.”

The day Jay drove his new Audi on to the sets of Dance India Dance, all the contestants went berserk and came running from their make-up rooms to have a look and feel of the car.  Jay was too happy to oblige and tool them for a drive to Worli seaface. Another noticeable element in the car is its number plate which highlights his birthday. “I have got a specially customized number plate done that showcases my birth date which falls on 25th December.”

Well, we congratulate Jay on his swanky acquisition and wish him many more luxuries in the years to come….

Jay Bhanushali's wardrobe malfunction

Trrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr……………” that was the noise that had the entire crew of Dance India Dance roll in laughter! Till now you have only heard of females being the chosen victims of the dreaded wardrobe malfunction moment. This Saturday you will see tables turn on Zee TV’s Maruti Suzuki presents Dance India Dance.

After Paul and Urvashi’s  foot tapping waltz performance on the popular track Tere Naina from the movie Chandni Chowk to China, Grand Master Mithun Da suddenly proclaimed, “My star…My Jay will give these young dancers a run for their money. He will stand on top of the car that Urvashi and Paul used as a prop and show the world that he can waltz better than them.” The legendary banter between Jay and Mithun Da had been hitherto harmless but the moment poor Jay tried to climb to the top of the car, the characteristic sound of a garment tear trrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr…………. reverberated across the stage. The garment in question was Jay Bhanushali’s trousers, leaving him transfixed at one spot with cherry red cheeks.

It was a classic eye popping moment akin to a freeze frame in a movie when everything came to a standstill for about 30 seconds followed by a roar of laughter from every corner of the sets leaving Jay crying for help. At this point Urvashi and Master Geeta listened to his prayers and covered him from both sides  with their dress and saree respectively. Jay managed to go backstage under the aegis of Geeta Ma’s pallu, change and come.

“Hun participants ko faadu performance dene bolte hain, Jay nein apni pant faad ke faadu performance de di,” quipped Master Terence Lewis.

“What happened was unfortunate but take my word for it… If you notice an exponential rise in the TRPs this Saturday then you will know who is responsible for it. When my pants tore I had nowhere to look, could not stand up nor get down... Thank God, Master Geeta came to my rescue at the nick of time or else the memory of this moment would have haunted me forever, “said an embarrassed but ever smiling Jay.

Tune into this Saturday’s episode of Maruti Suzuki Dance India Dance, 8:30 PM only on Zee TV.

Yash Sinha gets candid

Yash Sinha is an Indian actor who currently essays the role of Bablu Singh in Zee TV’s Afsar Bitiya. In the past he had played pivotal roles in serials like Bhagyavidhaata, Teen Bahuraaniyaan and Har Ghar Kuch Kehta Hai. Yash is applauded and recognized in the industry for his acting skills but it’s a lesser known fact that Yash is a big foodie and is always on the lookout for the best restaurants in town. He also likes to replicate the taste of a dish he has liked at an eatery at home! In fact that is his favorite hobby! The actor considers cooking very therapeutic. It’s not only a hobby but also a stress buster
 Q. Tell us about your first love – food.
I am a hard core non-vegetarian but can eat anything that is edible and tastes good. Though North Indian cuisine tops my priority list, what I appreciate the most are the local specialties that every place has to offer. Whenever I go to a new place, I chat with locals, take their recommendation and make sure I don’t leave the place before sampling their local fare. Till date I have never been disappointed.
Q. What influenced you to take up food as a serious hobby?
My grandmother was an excellent cook, my maternal uncle owns a very popular restaurant, The Maurya in Patna, my grandfather has a mutton dish named after him (its popularly called nana ka mutton in our family) , my father is big foodie … need I say more. Since childhood I have been experimenting with different herbs, spices and cold cuts.
Q. What is your favorite thing to cook?
I am a specialist in cooking different dishes of mutton but I also seek out new ways to carry on tradition, by cooking recipes passed down from my grandparents and father. My signature dish is a mutton starter which is a unique concoction of shammi and galauti kebabs put together. Every time I throw a house party, I get special requests for my signature dish.
Q. What do you like to eat when you are out of India?
The moment I land in London I head straight to have fish and chips. It’s a pity we do not get cod fish in India and the frozen ones available are not a worthy substitute to the taste of a fresh catch. I have learnt how to make the batter with beer and can make excellent fish and chips using local fillets.I am extremely fond of European cheese; never fail to pick up my stock of Camembert, Mozzarella, Parmesan, Edam and my favorite, Swiss cheese.
I will share an interesting incident. I got a temporary cavity filling just before going to Bangkok so that I can eat my heart out when I am there. The day I landed I headed straight to the local market and popped in a whole frog. While chomping, one of the legs took the temporary filling out of the cavity, leaving me in excruciating pain. I must have scouted every medical store in Bangkok searching for an emergency dental cavity filling kit. After three – four days I gave up and said to myself, “Jo hoga Bombay jaake dekh lenge, as of now I will gorge on the local delicacies.”
 Q. Your love of food takes you places. How do you plan to make use of this vast experience?
I want to do two things. Firstly I want to anchor a food show and secondly I want to open an unusual theme based restaurant. Before you ask me more about the theme, let me tell you that I will not speak a word about it as I know the concept is really unique and the place will be a huge hit once it opens its doors. If people get a whiff of what I am planning to do, within a month there will be a place up and running based on MY concept.
 Q. What challenges have you faced while pursuing your hobby?
I only use fresh, simple, wholesome ingredients and love to experiment and try to make things that I have tasted in restaurants during my travels. Earlier it was very difficult to source common herbs and condiments like thyme, rosemary and fresh basil but now-a day’s exotic herbs and spices have found their way into supermarkets, making them easily accessible. Paprika is one condiment I still source from abroad.

Aman Verma comes to Rubina Dilaik's rescue

We’ve heard that everyone on the sets of Zee TV’s Chhoti Bahu except Rubina Dilaik aka Radhika was excited at Aman Verma’s entry as an Asur (devil) in the show. No, she had no personal tiff with Aman, but was apprehensive about working with a senior actor of Aman’s caliber. Just after a few weeks of shoot, both Rubina and Aman are full of mutual admiration for each other.  How did this happen?

When Aman realized that Rubina is feeling intimidated by his presence, he tried to  ease the atmosphere by cracking a few jokes then very subtly started giving Rubina a few acting tips. Dev (Avinash Sachdev) said, “Aman is so good that we didn’t even realize that he is trying to teach us a few acting tricks. He would casually bring up something in the course of a normal conversation and everyday, we would learn something new in a playful mood.”

Rubina says, “I play Lord Krishna, who has to look at the devil with steely eyes and be at my sarcastic best when retorting. I have to always portray a larger than life image in front of the devil. But the moment Aman came in front of me I used to look like a hapless chicken and get intimated by him. Aman has been working in the industry for almost two decades and understood my predicament. He asked the director to stall the shoot, took me aside and explained that every actor is supposed to do what is expected of him/her. Had young heroes been scared of legendary villains like Amrish Puri or Pran blockbusters like Mr. India or Amar, Akbar, Anthony would have never seen the light of day. I will never forget those lines and so many more tips for the rest of my acting career.”

Aman Verma did not want to take any credit for Rubina’s acting. He brushed aside all praise and said, “Rubina is a gifted actress who is an extremely fast learner. I still learn from my co-actors and seniors. It is very difficult for an actor of her age to play the role of a God with such finesse.”

Seems like Aman has managed to work his charm on the cast!

Stars celebrate Makar Sankranti

Sara Khan – While we don’t celebrate Makar Sankrant or Lohri at home, I am a major kite-flying enthusiast. Unlike most girls my age, I was always really good at it and I took part in a lot of kite-flying competitions. It was always so much fun to bring down your competitor’s kite. It calls for a lot of studied dexterity and I somehow had the knack for it! I’d love to do some kite flying this Sankrant!

Every Gujarati worth his dhokla will tell you that Makar Sankranti is one of the most auspicious occasions for the Hindus, and is celebrated in almost all parts of the country in myriad cultural forms, with great devotion, fervor & gaiety. It is a harvest festival. Makar Sankranti is perhaps the only Indian festival whose date always falls on the same day every year i.e. the 14th of January.  I was not very good at it but absolutely loved flying kites.

Every kid in my hometown, Baroda, knows how to fly kites but  I feel very embarrassed of the fact that I cannot! My entire family are brilliant at the activity. As a child, I used to sit downstairs when my father, uncles and cousins would be on the terrace flying kites passionately. It’s not that I did not try but after many failed attempts I realized that I am only good at holding the Phirki while someone else calls the shots. I loved the sesame sweets (til) prepared during Makar Sankranti and the most exciting part was digging out the 25 paise coins hidden inside those delicious til gud mithais

For us Gujaratis, Makar Sankranti holds much significance as it is a festival that celebrates the abundant harvest. The elders in the family would always make it a point to give gifts to the younger members. Of course, the day wasn’t complete without the yummy delicacies prepared for us. I would feel bad for that my mother and aunts would spend hours preparing these mithais that we would finish within a few minutes!

SNOW PLAYS SPOILSPORT FOR TEAM 'LOOTERA'

The heavy snowfall in Himachal Pradesh has left the crew of 'Lootera' stranded. The elaborate set put up in Gawar (3 km from Dalhousie) for the keenly awaited Ranveer Singh - Sonakshi Sinha starrer was ruined by the excessive snow, resulting in the cancellation of the film's second schedule. The first schedule was completed in Mumbai in December 2011.

It became evident from the Balaji CEO's tweet that Ranveer Singh was stranded in Jammu for 1-2 days. But on reaching Dalhousie he realized that the shoot had been called off, as the set was damaged. The unit is expected to return to Mumbai and proceed to Kolkata thereafter to shoot the next schedule. The Himachal schedule is likely to take place later once the severe weather conditions have eased out.

Co-producer Vikas Bahl of Phantom Productions confirmed, "Snow has created havoc. We are assessing the way forward."

The cancellation of the current shooting schedule is not expected to impact the film's release on October 26 [Bakri Eid].

Directed by the celebrated 'Udaan' filmmaker, Vikramaditya Motwane, 'Lootera' is an epic period romantic thriller. Amit Trivedi is scoring the music. The film marks the first-time pairing of Ranveer and Sonakshi, the industry's hottest newcomers after 'Band Baaja Baaraat' and 'Dabangg' respectively.

Dance India Dance Adbhut 18 unveiled

Mithun Chakroborty, the undisputed disco dancer brought alive the magic of the 80’s as he unveiled the ‘Adbhut 18’ contestants of Dance India Dance!

For the Gala episode of the show, the best minds of the west and east came together to put together a dance act so powerful that scores of dance fanatics across the country and abroad will shout hoarse, kya baat, kya baat, kya baat ….!!   Master Terence Lewis and International choreographer Alex Magno, who trains Pop Divas like Britney Spears and Madonna, have choreographed the opening act of the show where Grand Master Mithun Chakraborty, India’s original Disco Dancer will take the center stage along with the ‘Adbhut 18’ contestants. The act is Mithun da’s tribute to the dancing legend, Michael Jackson who he idolizes till date.
Said an elated Mithun Da,“I was very excited when Terence requested me to be a part of the opening act. My only brief to him was that I want to do something different that my fans have not seen hitherto. He made me do tap dancing which looks seemingly simple but needs a lot of practice; miss half a beat and the entire choreography will go for a toss.”
Said Master Terence Lewis,“It’s always a pleasure to choreograph Mithun da. Dada made a grand entry on stage and took no time in picking up the rhythm and do justice to the choreography. Even today, he can give every aspiring dancer a run for their money by matching beat by beat, step by step.”

After battling nearly three months of anxiety, sleepless nights and intense moments, the aspirants of ‘Sunehri Taqdeer ki Topi’ have left the grueling audition process behind. It’s time to announce the ADBHUT 18 contestants who have crossed all barriers successfully and sealed their place in the hearts of the Master Geeta Kapur, Master Terence Lewis and Master Remo D’ Souza.

Birthday prediction for Imran Khan

With two back-to-back hits last year, this young Khan is slowing emerging as quite a ‘bankable’ star.

Will 2012 prove the same for Imran Khan ?.

Our in house expert and celebrated astro numerologist Bhavikk Sangghvi tells us:

“Imran Khan was born on 13th January 1983 which makes him a Number 4 (Rahu) person in numerology. He is a Capricorn (ruler Saturn – Number 8) and his destiny number also adds up to Number 8, which means he is ruled by one of the most powerful planets Saturn twice” explains Bhavikk.

“Generally, Numbers 4 and 8 are considered to be the ‘toughest’ numbers in numerology as they are totally ‘extremist’ numbers. Either it gives extreme success or extreme failure. Imran got lucky with his first break in Bollywood but after that, he had to face the blow of repeated failures as none of his films worked post his debut till he struck gold with ‘I Hate Luv Storys’. Still, he will always have to struggle his way to reach the top and prove himself with every film of his. That’s the shani effect. Also his name adds up to Number 26 which will add to his woes” he explains further.

Imran will now enter his 30th year and it isn’t looking that promising if compared to last year” predicts Bhavikk.

“Luckily, his next release ‘Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu’ (the double ‘K’ is numerologically corrected) is now adding up on a positive number and hence would do well at the box office. But after that in Vishal Bhardwaj’s ‘Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola’ his work will be appreciated as usual, but the box office numbers will purely be missing”.

“Wearing a Blue Sapphire (after testing) on his middle finger on a Saturday (two hours and 40 minutes before sunset) might just help him achieve super stardom just like his mamu Aamir Khan” advices Bhavikk before signing off.

Juhi wins Bigg Boss 5

After spending 98 days in a house under the prying eyes of 55 cameras, Juhi Parmar has been declared the winner of Vodafone presents Bigg Boss 5 being aired on COLORS. During the past 3 months, the Bigg Boss house has witnessed unlimited entertainment and drama by contestants who displayed their varied personalities. After giving her fellow contestants a tough fight, Juhi Parmar emerged victorious and walked away with the grand prize of Rs. 1 crore and the winner’s trophy. Giving Juhi a tough fight and walking away as the first runner-up was MAhek Chahel while Sidharth Bharadwaj was the second runner-up. While Juhi won the title of Bigg Boss, Mahek’s long-time boyfriend, Danish Khan proposed to her on the stage for marriage, to which Mahek replied with an ‘I do’.
Juhi is the second female contestant to prove her mettle and win Bigg Boss after Shweta Tiwari won Bigg Boss Season 4. Being one of the most popular bahus on Indian television, her fame and strong fan-following has helped her gain the maximum votes. Survival on television’s most intense reality show has not been easy for Juhi. Her cordial and straight forward nature along with her patience has made her win the hearts of not only the audiences who have voted for her, but also her fellow contestants. Be it dealing with fights and conflicts or making friends, Juhi always remained on the front-foot. She has always stood her ground in fights due to which she never got along with Sidharth Bhardwaj and Amar Upadhyay, but her maturity allowed her to remain cordial with the pair of them. Juhi is definitely walking away after having gained tremendous respect from everyone who has been a part of her life, especially her husband television actor Sachin Shroff, and finding life-long friends in Pooja Bedi, Sky Wlker and Sunny Leone.
Upon being announced the winner of Vodafone presents Bigg Boss 5, an ecstatic Juhi Parmar said, “The feeling that follows after being declared the winner of Bigg Boss is something that I cannot put in words. A woman is the epitome of endurance and being the second woman to win Bigg Boss helps prove that point to all that ever doubted it. Tackling the various situations that I have experienced inside the Bigg Boss house has given me a lot more confidence to go back home and continue being what I am. Thanks to Bigg Boss, I have made some life-long friends whom I probably would have never met if I had not agreed to be a part of the show. There is a lot that I am taking back home with me that I have learnt while being a part of this amazing journey of Bigg Boss 5.”
Juhi’s winning evening was a star studded evening with power packed performances.  While Salman was seen in his ‘Lovely Singh’ avatar from Bodyguard, Sanju Baba did not miss the opportunity to wish the contestants ‘All The Best’. Malaika Arora Khan’s rendition of ‘Munni Badnaam Hui’ and Rakhi Sawant’s performance on ‘Chikni Chameli’ left the audiences spell bound. Not to be left behind, the evicted contestants also shook a leg while participating in the grand celebration of the finale. Sunny Leone took to the dance floor and wowed the audiences in the Punjabi kudi avatar while grooving to the songs ‘Jugni’ and ‘Sadi Gali’. Showing the world her adas was transgender Laxmi Narayan Tripathi, who performed a mujra act to ‘Salaam-e-ishq’ and ‘In Aankhon Ki Masti’. Shonali also showcased her sexy side by delivering a sensual performance. Bringing the grand finale to its pinnacle was a group act by Shakti Kapoor with all the girls who have participated in this season of Bigg Boss, which created a sense of nostalgia given that the show started with Shakti being the sole man inside the house.

Birthday predictions for Bipasha Basu

Back to her ‘singularity’, this sexy siren needs no introduction.

So, we ask our in house expert and celebrity astro numerologist Bhavikk Sangghvi to ‘figure’ out some predictions for Bipasha Basu on the eve of her 33rd birthday:-

“Bips was born on 7th January 1979. So primarily she is ruled by Number 7 (Ketu), Number 8 (Saturn – Capricorn) and her destiny number also adds up to Number 7. Since she is ruled by Number 7, she is automatically ruled by Number 2 (Moon) as Numbers 2 and 7 always go hand in hand. In this case, she is ruled by this number twice” explains Bhavikk.

“Bipasha now enters the 34th year of her life, which indicates ‘marriage’ in BLOCK LETTERS in her chart. Just like her ex-beau John Abraham, she might also take the plunge and walk down the aisle by end of this year as she is likely to meet her Mr.Right by mid this year” predicts Bhavikk on a serious note.

“Even on the film front, things are looking up for Bips as her work in ‘Players’ and her international project ‘Singularity’ will be highly acclaimed”.

“But it will be ‘Raaz 3’ and ‘Race 2’ which will not only give her appreciation for her work, but will also ensure commercial success”.

“Wearing a Cat’s Eye on a Thursday midnight set in silver on her smallest finger will help her ward off negativity (read people) and ill vibes (energy) around her which she is so much surrounded with” advices Bhavikk strongly.

“So, overall a positive year for Bipasha” concludes Bhavikk before signing off.

Sky-Juhi have an argument

The day begins on a very competitive song of ‘Muqqabla’ as it is an indication for the housemates that the show is nearing its end and soon a winner will be announced.
The house continues on the same note as last night’s. The trio – Juhi, Amar and Sky, continue to be irritated with Mahek and Sidharth after all that had happened the day before. Sidharth continues to throw weight around and orders Juhi to get him tea and Amar to wash his cup to which both revolt and soon Sky joins them in too.

Soon, Mahek and Sidharth head to their room and the trio follow them trying to listen to their conversation and taunt them. While Juhi, Amar and Sky taunt them, Sidharth maintains his stance of not getting into a fight unnecessarily with anyone around.

The entire house remains silent for a while but very soon starts interacting and having fun with each other. They all imitate the evicted contestants and recall old memories of how each one would fight over something or the other.

In the evening, Sidharth is seen apologizing to Amar and Sky about all the wrongs he has done so far in the show. Amar reacts well and is warm and apologizes back while he also taunts him saying Sidharth has actually hurt him a lot. When Sidharth approaches Sky, Sky is little cold but smiles and agrees to forget everything too.

As time passes, Sky has an outburst where he thinks Sidharth did not respect him and vents it out first in front of Juhi and Amar and tells them that he will go and clear the same out. Juhi and Amar try to stop him and ask him not to unnecessarily approach Sidharth and elongate the drama, but he does not listen. Sky goes out and tells Sidharth how he was the one who saved Sidharth from kicking Pooja Misrra and getting out of the show for being violent. Sky tells him that if it wasn’t for him, Sidharth would not have been a part of the show any more.

Seeing all Sky’s outburst, Juhi cribs about how she tried stopping him and tried talking to him but he just would not listen.

The day ends on a very awkward note where all the housemates are seen not talking or interacting with each other and suddenly the lights go off.

Bigg Boss 5-Paisa Yeh Paisa

The day begins with an apt number of ‘Paisa Paisa’ with the TV displaying ‘5 days to go’ and ‘1, 00, 00,000/-‘. As the contestants walk outside, they notice a bag filled with cash put in the garden area, and soon they understand that they have an open option of walking out with the cash in case any of them think they are not going to win.Seeing this Sidharth discusses with Mahek how the money would increase by the day so that it will tempt them more to leave.
As the day progresses, Sidharth and Sky are seen getting into a small banter and due to a task. Mahek, Juhi and Amar roll into the banter too and soon each of them are seen supporting their friends on the show.
As a result of the argument that happened in the afternoon, Mahek and Sky start arguing about how each of them have been after each other’s lives always. Sky taunts Mahek about her coming back at Sky for all that he had done to her earlier on the show. Sky tells Mahek that she should stop avenging him. Mahek returns the favor back to Sky by telling him that he should stop accusing her for things she is not doing.
In the evening, since the entire house had a very negative day, all of them sit down to discuss about their best experiences in the house. Sidharth talks about how his best moment was when Mahek told him that he has managed to win her heart. Juhi discusses about her best moment being her husband walking into the house and being with her. Sky discusses how his best moment was when Pooja Bedi showed that concern for him while he was down and the entire house was pointing a finger at him but only Pooja Bedi was the one who asked him to stand strong.
As the day ends, Sidharth and Mahek are seen discussing Amar and his spineless behavior. Sidharth tells Mahek that just a few days back it was Sky who was taunting Amar and making fun about his family, wife and kids and now Amar has turned out to be gelling well with the man again. Sidharth tells Mahek that he feels ashamed of supporting Amar while all of this was going on. He says, that now when Sky is being sweet, it took no time for Amar to stop being with them and bitching about them to Sky.

Yamamotoyama's bigg entry in Bigg Boss

Bigg Boss 5-Yamamotoyama bonds with contestants

As Sunny leaves the house, the final five contestants are seen rejoicing and are happy as they have entered the finale list. Soon, the men are made to dress up for their Bigg wrestle and once the men see the giant sumo they would wrestle, all of them end up giving scared reactions. Sidharth is assigned the task of attending to the special guest in the house. Sidharth soon starts interacting with Yama and manages to become friends with him.

In the evening, as the contestants relax after dinner, they ask Yama to sing a Japanese song. He very cutely sings a Japanese song for the contestants and soon everyone in the house starts singing with him. They teach him ‘Aati Kya Khandala’ and he repeats after them. After the singing, they teach him how to dance and he grooves with them too. They teach him to do Salman’s step from the movie ‘Dabangg’.

As the next day begins, the wake up song ‘Sayonara’ makes Yama happy and he begins humming the song. He soon jumps into the swimming pool, and Amar and Sky cannot help but make fun of the way all the water splashed out of the swimming pool. The two tell him how it felt like a mini tsunami once he jumped inside the swimming pool.

In the afternoon, Yama’s lunch is sent inside the house. The entire house is shocked to see how Yama’s food is sent in steel buckets. Looking at the way Bigg Boss has sent lunch, Yama is shocked.

In the evening, the contestants start talking to Yama about his love life back in Japan. In a while, Sidharth takes a red balloon and starts teasing Yama after Yama talks about his love life. The two have fun and are seen enjoying the moment.

In the night, Bigg Boss sends in dinner for Yama and asks all the contestants to serve him food the Indian way. Yama enjoys being treated well but at the same time very sweetly asks all the other contestants to enjoy their dinner too.

In the night, Sky taunts Amar along with Juhi about how Amar is always happy when a contestant is asked to pack bags and leave the house.
